“Perspectives
on Animals” Lesson Plan
(Ages 11-18 and college adult)
The “Perspectives on Animals” lesson from the
Sowing Seeds Workbook is a dynamic and creative way to introduce
animal issues to your students. Many thanks are due to IIHE
for allowing us to place this lesson on TeachKind.org. We
have also created materials to help teachers with the lesson’s
activities:
• “Choices
Cards” Activity
(Ages 8-18 and college adult)
TeachKind has created “choices cards” that ask
students to choose between two actions—one that is good
for animals and one that is bad—and educate them about
the compassionate choice. This activity, which is part of
the “Perspectives on Animals” lesson plan, can
be easily downloaded, printed, and distributed to students.
• Chicken
Photos
(Ages 11-18 and college adult)
These chicken photos, which can be printed on paper or transparency
sheets or downloaded as PowerPoint slides, are part of an
interactive activity that introduces students to modern egg
production.
“We’re
All Animals” Coloring Book
(Ages 5-11)
If your students like to color—and you know that they
do—you will want to give them copies of these stunning
illustrations of animals to make colorful. Every drawing features
amazing animal facts to help students better appreciate animals.
