Citizenship Skills Lesson in Honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

To help you teach this lesson, TeachKind offers the following materials, free of charge:
  • "Cruelty-Free Shopping Guide" (all ages) This pocket-sized guide lists more than 550 companies that do not test their products on animals.

  • "Guide to Animals and Experimentation" (suggested for grades 6 and up) This eight-page booklet uses photos and text to describe animal-testing methods and the more reliable, high-tech alternatives.

  • "Let's Visit a Real Research Laboratory" Poster (suggested for grade 9 through college) This informative poster shows, room by room, what happens to animals in research labs. Because it contains upsetting photos, we suggest that it only be used for older students.

  • Inside Biosearch Video (suggested for grade 9 through college) This 14-minute video of undercover footage shows the disturbing reality of what happens to animals in laboratories. It is a unique and eye-opening video that will truly hold your students' attention. Because this video portrays animal suffering, we suggest that it only be shown to older students.

TeachKind encourages you to review the materials that you request to assess whether they are appropriate for your students.

To order materials, send an e-mail message to Info@TeachKind.org with the following information:
  • Your full name and address
  • The item(s) that you would like to receive
  • The number of students in your class (to ensure that we send enough literature)
  • Your telephone number (optional)
  • The date by which you need the materials (optional)

We look forward to filling your request. Thank you for teaching compassion in your classroom.
