In honor of Women’s
History Month, March’s TeachKind lessons feature two women who
are authoritative figures in the fields of literature and science.
The lesson for middle- and high-school students features a biography
of award-winning author Alice Walker and includes her powerful essay
“Am I Blue?” The grade-school lesson introduces students
to the life and work of Jane Goodall, who spent many years observing
chimpanzees in the wild.
These lessons reinforce the important achievements of women in our
society and promote the compassionate treatment of animals.
